I really wasn’t expecting the book to be so fast-paced! I’m not complaining; I love it! Emma & Jake have been on the run for years although usually they have been able to avoid being captured. One day, as they were about to run, Will practically jumped into their car and forced his help on Emma. Hhmm, suspicious much? Emma did not have time to argue and when she did object, Jake insisted that she needs Will. There are powers at play of which no one knows much of, except maybe Jake. It was a thrilling read when things kept happening one after the other with nearly no breaks in between. There is, of course, a bit of romance & humour to lighten the mood but the chase, shootings, overall actions kept the suspense pretty much throughout. Close to the end, the chase kind of peter off but that’s where we find things are a lot more complicated. Umm, seeing that it’s only book 1, I really still have no idea what’s going on – on the paranormal side of things, the secret society side of things, and I really do not have a clue where it’s going to go! What I can tell you though, that I’m really interested. I have really enjoyed this book, an action-packed thriller with a touch of the supernatural, and a dash of romance.
