The beginning didn't grab me but once, I got into the story, I got pretty involved.My pet peeve about this novel was the thoughts of the main character, Zoey Redbird. Whilst I'd appreciate the look into the protagonist's head, there were some thoughts about smoking, drinking, fashion, bitchy-ness etc, which just seemed to be tangential to the story and felt like they were put there just to make the 'moral points' to the novel. And the way they were phrased sounded a bit off in comparison to the rest of her thoughts.Am just no impressed enough to be in search of the sequels.PS: I like Erik Night just cuz the name!! Reminds me too much of Eric Northman and he's just such a Hottie! (check out the initials! Coincidental? hhhmmm...)
