It started with a really interesting idea of scientists exploring NDE (that's Near Death Experience) and how it's probably some kind of survival mode of the brain (or something to that effect) when the body is shutting down. Approximately halfway through, my thought was "how ridiculous..." and not long after, the suspense was killing me. The twist to the story was unexpected, I really wasn't quite sure where it was going and whilst the ending wasn't completely un-believably supernatural, it was slightly realistic and therefore, slightly disapopinting :( Yes, I was hoping for some miracle which didn't happen but oh wells, I can accept the 'real' ending even though I think it's kind of sad... Overall, it was a gripping book to read (after halfway anyway).
