I've always been hesitant in picking up this book noting the subject matter. However, it is a classic and seems to be one of the great lit works so it must be worth it to read. It is quite a bit different from my expectation. I really didn't expect 'Lolita' to be who she is and I... DON'T... LIKE... HER. Since I like neither characters, it's really not a book that I favor at all. Still, I have to admit that I do like the ending - what Lolita becomes, Humbert's revenge, etc. I'm not very good at appreciating literary works, I only go with what I feel when I read so therefore, the rating this book earned. If I didn't like the ending, I'd probably only give this book 1 star.
