The book started strangely for me. Little Bee is a Nigerian girl who has been through heartbreaking, gut wrenching, soul-stealing kind of life and she is fighting to survive. That's why she is in England, in search of a "story" that is not hers. Will she succeed?Sarah has been haunted by the event at the beach for the last 2 years and on the day of her husband's funeral, she could not hold it back anymore for there it was, standing at her front doorstep.I liked that the alternate chapters are told from different perspectives (ie. Little Bee's & Sarah's). I appreciated the author's work in sending a message of the true conditions in countries such as Nigeria etc are far worse than we can ever imagine and more importantly, that refugees are humans too and they deserve to be treated as such.
