I'm not quite sure whether I liked this book or not. For the first half of the book, I can't make up my mind who I found more annoying: the father or the son. Of course, when the reason came to light, it was completely understandable why and how their relationship was the way it is.I rarely read books of middle eastern culture so, despite the heartaches, I did enjoy it especially when it ended with hope (slight as it was, it's still hope). My mouth was salivating at each mention of food... kebobs and korma, etc...
